Bloodlust
Bloodlust - The LVG Anti-Valentines Party - took place on February 13th 2010. Are you an Edward or Bella from Arizona? Bill or Sookie from Bon Temps? Lestat from New Orleans? Then you were in excellent company as the theme was good ole Southern Vampires. A few galleries of photos are now available (or click on the zombie image above to get to them). Once there, click on an image to zoom in, click on the background outside the image to zoom back out. Alternatively you can find Flickr Set of all the pictures here.
Apocalypse Of The Dead Competition
In the ghoulish tradition of George A. Romero’s ‘Dawn of the Dead’ comes an epic fight for survival in the realm of the undead! We have 3 copies of this cracking new Zombie film to give away - all you have to do is name the modern classic zombie movie in which the zombie plague was caused by an infection known as "The Rage". All entries in by 31st March and the winners will be drawn randomly from the hollowed out skull of a decapitated undead.
The film is out on DVD on the 1st March and you can watch the trailer
here. The storygoes a little some thing like this...
In the aftermath of a catastrophic ecological disaster, a group headed by Interpol Agents Reyes and Milius desperately attempt to transport a valuable human cargo of state prisoners across a hazardous war zone.
Miles from help and civilization, the group find themselves besieged by a vast army of rampaging, blood-thirsty mutants who will stop at nothing to devour every morsel of human flesh in sight.
As Reyes and Milius fight not only for their lives but also to protect their precious cargo, they realize their only hope is to join forces with the treacherous criminals in their care; men as deadly and terrifying as the ravenous monsters out for their blood…
Starring the original zombie slayer, Dawn Of The Dead’s Ken Foree: the apocalypse has begun.
Silent Night: Rest In Pieces
The LVG Christmas party took place on November 28th and a merrily evil time was had by all - a few galleries of photos are now available (or click on the image above to get to them). Crime & Punishment
LVG “Crime and Punishment” Pub Walk and Talk – Much merriment was had in the Fleet Street and Blackfriars area of London on the most recent LVG walk & drink. Paul, our guide and raconteur shared much on the history of the area including its prisons, filth and legendary disreputable inhabitants - I'm sure everyone will remember the armless, legless dwarf of Blackfriars who could "do many things a normal man could not" - for a few more photos have a look at the Flickr set by clicking the image above.
A new episode of the Dead Channel previews Dracula Year Zero, Vlad, Priest (below),
and many more - find it in the Reviews section.
We'll be featuring reviews of gothic or vampire-related films, programmes, music, gigs and books, so if you have any reviews, please mail them to the LVG secretary
Bite: A Vampire Handbook
Bite: A Vampire Handbook by Kevin Jackson is now available (as of Monday 5th October) from Amazon and elsewhere. Some quick blurb:
Arm yourself with garlic, stake and crucifix, for the vampires are back in force - at the top of the best-seller lists, on your TV, on the web and lurking in darkened cinemas. But, where did they come from? Why have they come back now? And how can you tell if you are one? Beginning with the first sightings of bats and blood-sucking in the Romantic period, "Bite" will follow the undead's progress through the ages, right up to the present.
